Calling any and all Philly Doulas! This semi-structured meeting will happen twice per month, with this Sunday’s anatomy talk being the next up. The goal is to construct something between a workshop and a casual gathering, in order to really embody the ebb and flow that is doula work.
This Sunday, learn the anatomy of the pelvis from many vantage points to better support moms and yourself. During this interactive presentation, you will gain specific and felt understanding of your own anatomy that will change your relationship to your own body and those you support. We will use visual and palpatory techniques to learn about bones, joints, sphincters, ligaments, tendons, muscles and organs.
Julia Taylor is a bodyworker practicing for over 5 years with experience teaching anatomy and physiology to massage students and self massage to anyone interested in deepening their relationship to the body. She comes at anatomy from a reverent point of view, trusting that we are all capable of much more than we can ever imagine. In education about the body, Julia emphasizes relationships rather than categories as guiding tools for learning.
Let’s build a doula community together!
